about

All proceeds from sales of this track will be donated towards the rebuilding of the Samir Mansour bookshop in Gaza, Palestine, recently destroyed by air strikes.

Cover photograph by Bryony Dunne:
"In 2016, I travelled through the occupied West Bank for a month [...] I came across many trees that were partly destroyed by Israeli authorities and settlers, which I started to photograph. I learned that the strength of the ancient olive tree’s root system has the ability to regenerate itself in spite of being chopped, bulldozed, or torched.

Afterwards, when developing these images an unexpected signification surfaced in the darkroom, as my camera had malfunctioned and a thick black line cut across each image that I captured there. Later, I interpreted these lines or imprints as a kind of analogy, or a reminder of the continuous occupation and oppression."
